ABOUT THE ART
No Rescue reflects the deeply personal struggle of reaching for something that no one else can obtain for you. A lone hand rises from dark waters, stretching toward a fragile bloom suspended just beyond reach. Surrounding the figure are falling droplets—symbols of the many people who may be present in our lives. Though they surround us, they cannot lift us, cannot reach for us, and cannot achieve what must ultimately be done alone.
The work was originally created in batik, an ancient textile art form that uses layers of wax and dye. Each color must be applied individually, beginning with the lightest tones and progressing through multiple dye baths. The process is slow and deliberate, often taking months to complete, allowing the artist to fully inhabit the emotional space of the work as it develops.
Through both its imagery and its painstaking creation, No Rescue speaks to perseverance, isolation, and the reality that some journeys—no matter how many people stand nearby—must ultimately be faced and completed by oneself.
Care Instructions
To keep your shirt and artwork looking its best:
• Turn garment inside out before washing • Machine wash cold with like colors • Do not bleach • Tumble dry low or hang dry
• Do not iron directly on the design

About the Artwork Transfer
Each design features original artwork by Sophi Elayne and is carefully applied using premium heat transfer vinyl (HTV). This method allows the artwork’s lines and details to remain crisp while providing a durable finish designed for regular wear.
Unlike mass-produced prints, each shirt is individually pressed to keep the artwork crisp and central to the design. We proudly work with our local small-business partner, A Creative Measure, to bring these pieces to life.
